Bird watching in Frasers Hill in Malaysia
has been a favorite destination for a long time especially for the locals to escape the tropical heat. It is also a popular birding destination in peninsula Malaysia . Located just 1.5 hours from the capital Kuala Lumpur and 7 hours from Singapore by car. Many bird watchers and bird photographers flocked to Frasers Hill to see the mountain birds.
In the first 1.5 hour of day light, we photographed 15 to 20 species without having to walk more than 20 steps away from the car park at Jelai . By 9:15 am, it was completely empty. Many people , locals as well as Singaporean visit Frasers Hill just to witness the excellent birding phenomenal. The four mornings we were there (with one morning at Bukit Tinggi) there were at least 10 photographers ( different groups) from Singapore at Frasers Hill.
Here are our early bird shots from daybreak am to 9:15 am.

We flew to Kuala Lumpur on budget air, got a local car and drove north to IPOH via the highway . Exited at Bukit Beruntung, proceeded to Kuala Kubur Baru then up the winding and rather scenic reservoir road to Bukit Frasers. Well not quite in 1.5 hours but may be in 2 hours .We climbed about 1100 meter above the sea level greeted by the nice cool air in the early evening. Bird watching in Frasers Hill, Pahang, Malaysia,
